What distinguishes RAP from other mentor programs?

Mentor Program - Well organized with highly structured rules, guidelines and regulations.

Board of Directors and Advisory Board - The RAP board of directors consists of dedicated individuals who are truly concerned about the future of our youth. In addition, a well-rounded advisory board consisting of local business leaders, public officials, professionals, and superintendents of all three school districts in Austin County, supports and guides the board for directors.

Newsletter - All volunteers, donors and supporters are kept aware of our progress with informative and fun newsletters.

Tutoring - Students needing academic assistance may qualify for RAP sponsored tutoring.

Workshop, Seminars and RAP Sessions - Information is presented which will guide, inform and/or assist mentors with students.

Academic Scholarship Program - Graduating students who participate in RAP are candidates for scholarships to be applied toward higher education.

Community Awareness Program - At least one community awareness program is presented annually. Awareness programs are necessary to keep communities focused on current issues facing our young people.

Summer Links Program and Extracurricular Activities Program - These scholarship programs encourage recipients to pursue outside activities, to enhance their self-esteem, be a learning experience and build a sense of community. RAP students must meet specific qualifications.

Junior Mentor Program - This program permits young volunteers (junior and senior high school students) to mentor their fellow students in need.
